Hey! So I've added some new photos. they're from the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour (which is a suburb of Sydney). I went there with my two german friends Kiki and Toni. It was so gorgeous! It was funded by the Australian government (i think..) to show their friendship with China. There are stunning rock paths that run through this little oasis on the harbour. There are a couple of small waterfalls, a tea house, three or four different look outs, and a couple of bridges. We came upon this little hut in the garden where you can put on Ming Dynasty era clothes and walk around the garden....obviously we had to do it! Tourists were asking to take photos with us, it was hilarious. Though, I do have to admit, I don't think the ming dynasty suits me....
This morning I went for a job interview at a company called United Advertising. I'm looking to do something other than waitressing since that's what I do in America and on my year off I want to try different things! Also, this job would look much better on my resume. The interview went really well, and I am going back tomorrow morning for a trial. They do lots of trials here, something that isnt done in the states (or atleast I havent seen). If you want to get a job at a restaurant, you hand in your CV/resume, and they call you back and talk to you and maybe invite you to come work for them for free for a couple of hours to see if they like you. So, that's basically what I am going to be doing tomorrow. I really hope this job works out since it seems like a really cool company. The owners are young guys and they seem very "hip" i believe is the word. We'll see what happens tomorrow...I also have a job offer from a restaurant on Beach Road (literally, the road where the beach is). I talked to the manager there this afternoon and told him I am considering another job and he said that I could also work a weekend shift or two if I need the money, so I have a back up if United Advertising fails. Sounds pretty solid, right?
By the way, here is a link to the company's website (dad I know you will click this)

I also met up with Shaun Eliastam today! The other Eliastam actually exists. He took me out for lunch at a cafe right up the road from me. we had a great time (really good food) and we quickly realized some Eliastam-ish traits we share. For example, we both noticed a dog wandering around so we called the number on his tag and waited till his owner came to pick him up! Sounds pretty good, right Sharon? I showed him around the hostel and he introduced me to some possible job contacts. So rest assured that he exists and has even inspected my living quarters and he approves!!
I think that's all for now...this has been an eventful posting...I'm off to enjoy the sunshine!!
