Hello again! It's around 11.30pm here in New York and I am extremely tired so this is going to be a short update on what we've done so far! We did infact arrive at the 'hotel' at around 3pm, however the 'hotel' can only be described as infact, a hostel. When we got to the hostel, we took all our bags to our rooms before being given an hour or so to settle in before meeting back down at the reception to make out way to times square! Although we were all very tired from the long journey we were all VERY excited to head out! Our hostel is located west of central park in an absolutely fabulous location, a short walk away from the subway station and a 20 minute walk from times square. We set off to times square all being fascinated by the buildings, we stopped off at the subway station to each buy a travel card as we were told this would come in handy later on in the week. When we got to times square we were all given an hour to look round, take photos and do whatever we wanted before meeting the rest of the group at the hard rock cafe for our tea, which I was pretty disappointed with because we had been told it was great and we all had high expectations. It was about 9pm when we came out of the hard rock cafe and we were then given the option to go back to the hostel, or go up the rockefeller centre, I chose the Rockefeller centre, even though I was very tired I wanted to make the most of every opportunity whilst in New York and a couple of hours sleep could be sacrificed for this, I am VERY glad I chose this option, it was the best $25 I could have spent today, and it was truly mesmerising, I can't think of a better start to the week, seeing manhattan lit up at night, it's made me speechless. I am very excited for the next few days ahead! X
