Tom:
Just a quick blog to right a small wrong. Montevideo is actually much better than Asuncion. With much more to do. Yesterday, after describing the place incorrectly as having not much to do of any interest, we went to a cubist art gallery, a mausoleum, several awesome coffee shops and the seaside! It turns out that Uruguay has more bookshops than Buenos Aires, and an even greater appreciation for art too. We went to Joaquin Torres Garcia's art museum and contemplated "universal reason" (whatever the hell that is), and visited the burial place of the countries' greatest hero, General Artigas (something about freeing the Uruguayans from the Spanish, only to be exiled to Paraguay thanks to the Portuguese). Anyway, I feel I have appropriately addressed my mistake, and it only leaves me to say that Uruguayans are among the friendliest of all the people in South America (that we've visited). We're really pleased that we stopped off here, as we were originally just going to pass through on our way to Brazil (which we're doing tonight). To all culture-lovers, Montevideo is a must. Blog soon. TY
