We're in Gili Meno and it's beautiful! I feel I'm getting a proper Robinson Crusoe experience, this island doesn't have traffic, police or too many tourists, pristine beaches, a small community run by its village chief, and lots of sun! I'll let Tom elaborate on our walk today because I want to tell you about the boat ride to here, the reason for this is because Tom doesn't remember it, being too seasick to even concentrate on breathing! The boat ride, for those with fairly sturdy sea legs, was very enjoyable. Free food was included, the staff were very attentive, and I managed to find fellow travellers to chat with en francais! But the best bit of the whole journey was seeing the bright green flying fish and..... wild dolphins!!!! I was so excited to see them I think I squealed with delight. There was a pod of about 50 or more dolphins swimming near our boat, so close to us. One minute they were there, the next they disappeared, and unfortunately there are no photos to prove we saw them as they evidently seem rather camera shy! I've always wanted to see wild dolphins in the ocean, it was a rare and special treat to actually see them. For Tom, it made the boat trip almost worth it!
Hope you like the photos!
Lots of love,

For anyone who cares about geography - which in my experience so far during this trip excludes the entire population of taxi drivers in Southeast Asia - the next island east of Bali, and of a similar size, is called Lombok. Immediately to the North-West of this island are three little pockets of what can only be described as paradise (excuse the cliche). The Gili islands are Gili Trawangan (the biggest) Gili Meno (the smallest) and Gili Air (of course, the middle sized one). We're on Gili Meno which due to its size and lack of nightlife is completely devoid of chavs and is therefore, awesome! You can walk around it in a brisk 45minute walk, along the way taking in breath-taking views of the other two Gilis and Lombok, and swimming in crystal-clear water, which up until this point I thought only existed on computer-airbrushed postcards - cynic that I am! Other than rainfall Gili Meno doesn't have its own supply of freshwater, and the expensive guesthouses import it from Lombok. Ours - cheapskates that we are! - does not, and therefore we shower in salt-water, but at least it's a warm shower which is a small luxury for us. Anyway, changing the subject somewhat, it's been a very long time since I took a 4hour boat trip, and for very good reason - landlubber that I am! I am however happy to have made the trip, and am willing to brave these slightly choppy waters in order to go snorkling tomorrow around the coral reefs off these islands. I'm sure we'll be blogging about those shortly but for now I'll sign off. Hope all is well in England (and America, and Japan etc.). TY
