We went to beaches fairly close to home today. Lyngate Park is a state park that is only 5 minutes away. Initially we went to feed the chickens and Bob wanted to show me where his morning meeting was located. What a wonderful site! There is a grove of 5 picnic tables in kind of a circle and the meeting is not 15 feet from the sea. They see the morning sunrise every day. The beach is beautiful. There is quite a bit of driftwood and flotsam/jetsam. No shells to be found at all. This is a big change from when we were here before. Where have the shells gone? There are also tiny particles of styrofoam and blue plastic from who knows where on the shoreline. In Kauai (and Maui) there are no longer plastic bags available at check out. You bring your own recyclable grocery bag or you get paper bags at the food stores. A practice we will now adopt. We had eaten at an Indian restaurant for lunch (a tasty buffet) so we had a light dinner of salad (me) and sandwich (Bob) for dinner at the condo.

Maureen Britt I'm glad to hear you are still exploring and enjoying the islands. It's so sad to see plastic debris at the beach. I'm glad to see the world is trying to change this. Take care, see you on your return! Love Mo
