Our sleep was wonderful in our sleepy Spanish village.... A great breakfast with lots of cafe con leche to get the day started!! Off we went about 8am and made our way up into the Meseta Desert.....we walked along listening to the meadow larks singing us along..... It was very peaceful.... As we got closer to the Alto(Peak) of the hill where it flattened out we walked amid sacred stones piedro santos....we walked about 7 kms and then decended down a hill called the Mule Killer Slope aka Cuesta Matamulas!!! 1 km down into a place called Hornillos....a nice French man gave mom his walking stick for hill down.....at this time we didn't have plan as to where we were going for the day.... It was another 10 kms to the next Albergue or town or so we thought.... We went into a bar and aske about a bus or taxi to the next town... No bus and taxi $$$$ then age told us the little albergue in San Bol was open even though my book said not until May.... So we decided another 6kms was realistic and off we went.... Back up into the Meseta.... The sun was out in full force but the breeze was cool and perfect.... The fields were swaying... Ya know when the wind blows through the fields and it looks like is moving water.... It was beautiful.... We came down and over a river and there sitting in a cluster of trees in the middle of no where was this albergue.....I kinda had second thoughts... No power lines to it.... But our feet were tired and heard there was a fountain and the water was known to be healing.... Turned out to be a gem!!! Tranquility!!! We are staying!!! We bathed our feet in the water....they say this place is not only healing for your feet but for your soul....it is my favorite place so far.... Our host is a young girl from Sweden ..... Cafe in the garden and great chats.... One other lady from Switzerland has joined us....the building is an old stone building with no electricity .... It does have running water though for a bathroom....did I mention I love this place??? Well we had a lovely supper by candle light.... Did I mention there is no electricity?? Our Swedish host Maya left at 9 and there we were... The three of us alone in this stone house..here is hoping for a peaceful sleep !! 14 kms today and who knows tomorrow!

Lavinia Martha:Tried to press 5* but only 4 came up. Reading your Blog I want to pack my bags and take off. Actually I could be ready in five minutes! Look after yourselves and enjoy!
Janet It's okay, Lavinia... For some reason, I was able to press the 5th star. This sounds like the tranquility we spend hectic lives searching for. Wow... You rock! and so does your amazing Mom! Didn't you tell us that she once danced to the Northern Lights? I've liked her ever since that story.
Jennifer G Wow, sounds awsome. Quinn says Hi!! Love you both.
Marcus Sounds wonderful...sometimes the most amazing things come in packages you don't expect (or recognize!) Love your writing keep it up!!
deb johnston I stayed there last year and the hospitalera was name Editha. Had another pilgrim not pointed this place out to me and my partner we would have missed one of the highlights of our camino. It was a beautiful experience. It's a beautiful tranquil place and after my partner dipped her feet into the spring she never suffered another blister for the rest of her walk.
