Our sleeper bus from HCMC to Mui Ne was a pleasantly easy five hour journey; with the exception of a Singapore youth coming to sit next to me and persisting in talking to me - despite my polite but quipped responses - for the final three hours of the journey.
When we tramped up a surprisingly steep hill to our hostel (Mui Ne Villas 2) we were greeted by a very smiley Dutch girl who was extremely helpful and spoke fantastic English. She informed us that our hostel had the added luxury of permitting us to use their hotel's pool which was an extravagance that we hadn't expected. The pool itself was very nice and had far more of a 'holiday' than 'travel' vibe about it.
With the sun beating down on our necks we ordered a pineapple juice and looked out at a superb view of the beach; green palm tree feathers were laid out like grass along the beach front and a swarm of kites could be seen dancing above them attached to the many kite surfing enthusiasts that have flocked here.
Mui Ne is extremely touristy and the shops that adorn the singular main road are very expensive and sell the usual inflatables and lotions that you would expect to find in a place so tourist driven.
With a quick exploration under our belts we retreated back to the pool for the remainder of the afternoon and enjoyed relaxing and letting the pool purify our travelled limbs.
