Mitchell's Adventures
We had a full day of driving today, leaving Seisia at the tip of Australia, back across the Jardine River Ferry and down the Developmental road to Batavia Downs and east on the Frenchmans Track. It was a great 4wheel drive track with some river crossings. We encountered our trickiest crossing at the Pascoe River with steep rocky entry and exits and a fairly deep river. We were aiming to camp at Chilli Beach but arrived in the dark and had to settle for a camp in the rainforest. It turned out to be beautiful listening to frogs and birds all night. In the morning we discovered a track that lead to some interesting world war 2 artefacts.
