Well, after a fitful and somewhat uncomfortable night's sleep, we arrived in Niagara Falls to beautiful fluffy snow and -26 degrees with wind chill. We were absolutely freezing, but the falls were definitely worth the discomfort! The billows of mist were enormous, and the whole scenery looked quite spectacular with the trees being covered in snow and icicles. Unfortunately the Maid of the Mist tours don't run during winter, but we were still able to go behind the falls, where you can feel the falls' awesome power.
We also encountered a very friendly bus driver who recommended a fantastic diner near a bus stop for us to have breakfast/lunch at and a taxi driver who offered to hold a party at his place for us to meet his brothers and cousins at.
After having a good look around the falls and defrosting in a cafe, we caught another bus to Toronto, where it was just as cold - even the locals were complaining about how cold it was! We met up with one of Kerrin's friends and they took us to this funky basement level bar called C'est what? Which had awesome food and more varieties of beer than you could poke a stick at. Unfortunately, I still don't like beer.
