Tuesday,
Today we woke up at about 4:30 am
Body clock was not adjusted yet.
We go up and left the room to use the free wifi at the hostel so we did not disrupt our room.
We discusses plans for the decided a hop on hop off bus your around London
This cost us £29
6am we showered got ready and by 7 am we were upstairs getting breakky
We paid £4.50 for each day to have breakfast
We made our selves a doggy bag of rolls with ham cheese and tomato for lunch
We booked our big bus your through the travel desk at the hostel and were on the move at 9 am for the bus.
We saw a lot of the main attractions
St Paul's cathedral which was incredible such a beautiful building, we only went in a little bit because we did not want to pay the £12 to look around the whole place
We did go in far enough to find out that it cost £7million to up keep the cathedral.
London bridge & tower bridge
Very surprised I thought London bridge would be fancy but it was not its a very plain boring bridge,
Tower bridge on the other hand is incredible it was built to complement the tower of London and to give more access across the river thames, we were very lucky to be able to experience watching the tower bridge open when a couple of yachts needed to go under.
Tower of London
Such an incredible building, we did not go inside today but will re visit tomorrow an go inside
From this stop on our hop on hop off big bus tour we used our free river cruise, down the river Thames getting on at tower pier this took us down past hms belfast a war ship used in world war 2, we could see the shard from the river, under london bridge, past the monument, southwark cathedral, under southwark bridge, past Shakespeares globe theatre, under millennium bridge, black friars bridge & Waterloo bridge past Cleopatras needle under the golden jubilee bridge stopping at Westminster pier where we could see the London eye, big Ben and the houses of parliament.
As we went along the river Thames in the distance we could see Lambeth palace huge amazing palace.
London eye
Is a huge ferris like thing that has approximately 40 capsules that takes about half an hour to go around and you can see the city from above
We did not do this today we are planning to do it tomorrow.
Big Ben
The GIANT clock tower, well big Ben is the thimble that chimes.
We were lucky enough to be there at 12 mid day so we got to listen to the clock chime 12 times As we ate our lunch looking over the river Thames and at the London eye.
Big ben An amazing thing to look at.
Houses of parliament
Attached to the same site as big Ben absolutely incredible building so much detail.
Back on the bus and we went past
Past Westminster abbey and westminster cathedral
Next stop was Buckingham palace The guards were out in their red suits with their black fluffy hats on what a great time, the queen was in the palace when we were there we know this because the flag was flying, there was so much going on at Buckingham palace as England is preparing for the queens jubilee 60years on the throne.
St James's park
Buckingham palace looks over st James's park we wandered through and found a nice spot in the sun to sit and eat our other roll even though it was extremely busy it was very peaceful.
It had got quite late in the afternoon and we were getting tired so back on the bus we went to head home
We got to Oxford st and the traffics was driving up crazyyyy so we decided to get off the bus and walk home
After popping I and out of shops it would have taken us about 1 hour to get home.
On the way home we went into m&m world m&ms everywhere was crazy
We decided against buying any because they were ridiculously over priced £2 for 100grams (about $4) rip off !!
We finally made it home and accidentally fell asleep at 6pm and slept until 7:30pm only being woken up from our room mates coming in
Lucky !!!
We freshened our selves up and went to a pub around the corner from where we are staying and enjoyed the traditional fish and chips
After dinner we used a little bit of free wifi an then it was back to the room for sleep after our long long day.
