Clare's Travels
Well, we were briefly in Chicago, IL after I landed on Wednesday. To be completely honest, I was absolutely shattered. By that point I'd been travelling for about 24 hours and hadn't slept in twice that time. It was a bit shocking!!
Chicago looked amazing from the air, we flew in over Lake Michigan which is massive. Def the biggest Lake I've even seen in my life. I reckon there's gonna be a lot of that when I'm here.
We got dinner at a place called Chili's where no one could understand me, and even ordering drinks was fairly difficult! All I can say is welcome to American sized portions. Oh yeh and try their corn, it's good.
Krispy Kreme Donuts rules. Bring them to the UK... that's one American chain I wouldn't say no to. But who would with free donuts when the sign's out!
We drove back to Ann Arbor that night also, in the middle of the hugest thunderstorm. At one point the fork lightening hit so close to us that it definitely broke the sound barrier. It was awesome but also pretty scary. We had to pull over under a bridge for a while just to let the worst of it pass as we literally couldn't see the road any longer. It was pretty cool, but went on for the whole four hour journey back to where we were staying.
By the time we got back it was 2am in our time, but 7am in my time. It reall was time for some sleep!!
