Miranda's Trip
Yo yo de yo hooligans!
Hope all is well in the land the sun forgot. Wish I could say the same about here but I am without a doubt the reddest i have ever been! In my last post I mentioned I had caught the sun and was in a considerable amount of pain. Lo and behold though I managed to out do myself and now resemble a giant sodding lobster. But more on that after I fill all you losers in on what I have been up to.
Have spent most of our time here just lazing about being a mong. The day after my last post we spent out in the lagoon, just spalshing about. We made really good pals with these two guys who were staying in the same place as us called james and Aron. They are really awesome fun and managed to keep us amused and from tearing each others hair out. Anyway, with them we swam across to this little islet opposite Muri Beach. It was really nice adn the water as well as being amazingly warm and clear is full of little fish. Cool to look at but possibly not the best for Jenny who is scared of anything from 'under the sea'. That evening we had a bbq with the boys, two british girls called Kate and Ann and a couple of tag-a-long swedes called Bjorn and June. Only joking, everyone is really nice. Coupled with a few alcoholic beverages we had a wicked night and it was sop relaxed. Didn't think we would be able to entertain ourselves but we have managed it rather well. Mind you didn't want to drink as much as in LA as when you see the pictures you will see what a state we werea ll in. I take part of the blame for suggesting the first drink at 11.45 in 'Ye Olde English Bar'. But the other drinks were forced upon me, honestly. The pictures are dead funny, although I am sure my family would consider me a disgrace.
The next day we hired some death mobiles, sorry mopeds, and took off around the island. You have to do a driving test to make sure your safe but this is obviously just a formality as I had to drive aproximately 100 metres from the police station to the supermarket and back. then the dude just gave me a license! If only it was that easy at home, Daddy would sure have saved a lot of money on those five tests.
We saw literally every part of the island. Didn't think we were actually going to get anywhere as Al managed to fall straight off her moped outside the hire place and thought they were going to say no. But they didn't actually seem to care and it wasn't serious. More serious was when Al burnt her leg on the exhaust at the very end of the day. There is now a very attractive fluid filled blister on her leg. However it will undoubtedly heal up nice and quickly and until then its an awesome conversation starter.
Whilst scooting around I seemed to catch a few rays. For that read I burnt, burnt, burnt. I have started to go a bit brown now (ok, just slightly less puce if I am being honest) but have got some serious strap marks going on. That and my nose and forehead, having blistered almost instantaneously, have started to peel already. Not a good look. That coupled with the 78423 bites I have covered every, and unfortunately I mean every, part of my body means I have ever looked so grotesque. Am hoping that by the time I get back I will be a nice brown colour, minus lines, and there will be no sign of the mosquito all you can eat buffet that is my skin.
I have decided to alter my ticket when I get to New Zealand. Whilst I am enjoying myself, and don't think i'm not, I am also missing a lot of things about home. So have to decided to come back a couple of weeks earlier then planned. Probably July as opposed to August so probably about six or seven weeks earlier then planned. Plus the rate I am going through money I won't be able to stay out here until August. I am sure your all missing me so much though that me coming back will be a welcome relief.
We are catching our flight to Fiji tonight and until then am planning on staying out of the sun. Still not found anywhere to burn my pictures onto CD but promise as soon as I do I will put them all on here. If you want to see where I am/have spent the last week then go to www.varas.co.ck
Until then kids be good and don't foget to keep emailing me. Like I said am missing home terribly so any news/lavishings of attention is much appreciated.
All my love, Randa XxX
