Our sleep was interrupted at 07:30 by the piercing ringing of the phone in our room. It was reception telling us our bus was here but we had booked the 13:00 departure. The woman apologised and we both tried to get more sleep but it isn't the same if you've been woken up. We got out of bed at around 10:00 to casually get ready. Daniel went to the bakery and baguette shop and got us baguettes for breakfast, i had laughing cow cheese in mine.
I said goodbye to the dog that we could see from our balcony and we went downstairs to wait for our bus. The clouds were grey and it looked as if it would rain soon so we hurried to the baguette shop and bakery where we got more food to eat while on the journey. We were picked up from reception by a taxi to take us to the bus station which was a three minute drive away and when we left the taxi it began pouring down with rain.
It was raining so heavily that water was cascading down the steep road much like a waterfall. There was just so much water everywhere, gushing down into the gutters. Our coach was supposed to leave at 13:00 but arrived at around 13:35 so we quickly got in after the bus man threw our backpacks into the holding area. We were happy to see it was a sleeper bus with hardly any other passengers on it so we occupied the whole of the top back row.
The journey took us through the beautiful highlands of (almost) central Vietnam and there was mist at the top of the mountains so you could tell we were high up, not to mention my ears kept going all funny. We stopped off once for 30 mins at a restaurant place and it was still raining. The rest of the journey took about 2 hours.
When we arrived we got two motorbikes to take us to our hotel that Daniel booked "HT3" which wasn 't the one we booked but the building just next to it. It was a long walk up four flights of stairs to our room, we always seem to get the room at the top of the building, guess i shouldn't complain as the workout won't hurt my glutes.
Once we settled in we went out for a walk along the beach and onto the main strip and ended up in a sports bar. We ordered a beer and dan ordered fish and chips, me a burger and chips but when the food came it was a hotdog. I told them not to bother changing it as by the time it arrives, Daniel would have finished. When the everton game finished we went for a quick walk to see if we were offered anything to smoke and we found a man with a nervous twitch who directed us to another man. He asked for 600,000 but we got it for 450,000, only thing was that it wasn't weed at all. It smelled just like green tea, we had been had! Not as bad as it could have been as we read people have paid as much as 800,000dong for the sane stuff which is around $40!
Nha trang is over populated with Russians, they're everywhere. Walking around in their speedos looking miserablr as anything so whenever i walk passed an english person i feel to high five them for NOT being russian. The locals don't seem to like them either because they're so rude. Although, back in mui ne when me and dan were sitting outside our room, a russian woman with her baby walked passed, smiling and said good morning so i guess they're not all bad.
West Ham lost the match and so we left at around 01:00 to walk back to the hotel. The streets are filled with dodgy looking locals sitting on bikes selling marijuana and cocaine. The worst was when daniel went off and a man offered him baby sex and said it was "very good". We still don't know if he meant an actual baby or a small girl, either way it's atrocious. I couldn't sleep when we got in, my mind wouldn't let me, i was thinking about everything under the sun. I'm really missing home and also my cuddles every night with Lola. I eventually dozed off at around 03:00am.
