Hey ya everyone,
So we arrived in KL on Wednesday and made our way to our nice, relaxed little hostel, The Attapsana Guest-House. After visiting the Petrona's towers and KL tower, we soon realised that there is not really that much to do here! Aswell as the iconic Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur is equally famous for its abundance of huge airconditoned Shopping malls. Having completed most of our planned "sightseeing", we've basically spent the last two days crusing around a variety of different shopping centres. The KLCC Sentria, The Lot 10, The pavillion etc.. Basically they're all the same: Big, Shiny and full of luxury brand shops like Gucci, Chanel, Prada, TopShop etc. Whilst this may sound cringe-worthy (bar Topshop), Each complex has a wide array of different food stalls which all sell amazing noodles, curries bla bla bla.. There was even a boost juice in one! (we splurged and both got a mango magic!)
KL is supposedly full of amazing food and restaurants, but we found that unless you spend hours traversing through different neighourhoods, or have a guide book (which we dont!), then it can be quite tricky to find a meal. That's partly why we love the amazingly easy and super airconditioned comfort of KLs shopping centres, however un-cultured that may sound!
Also, Mim bought a really cool new Swatch Watch from the Swatch store at The Pavillion! We're really quite excited about the watch (and now knowing what time it is!), but more exciting is the fancy shopping bag it came in, which we plan on carrying around with us to help blend in with the abundance of rich westerners on shopping sprees, while really we're only there for the food and airconditioning!
Tommorow we check out from The Attapsana Guest House at midday and will likely spend a few more hours in one or another shopping centre, filling in time until our 8pm Train to Butterworth!
Until then,
Selamat tinggal!
