Hi all, sorry its been a while...Again! were way too busy having fun to update all the time, will try putting some pics up soon too, but there on our facebook pages for now. So last blog we had left Phi Phi and were headed to Samui. It was such a long day , we got picked up by a songthew ( a sort of open trailer truck) which chugged us to a coach pick up point were we had to wait a hour before getting on the coach... you soon learn in Thailand that there's a thing called Thai Time, theres no rush for anything and you can never guarentee a time on anything!! so then a 2 1/2 hour coach trip to the ferry port then another hour wait at the ferry port then a 2 hour ferry ride another songthew to the hotel 45 mins away from the ferry port!!! we were shattered, the backpacks and the heat take it right outta you too! the songthew in Samui was for about 10 people comfy, at one point there was 18 people on it,hanging off the back and on the roof, lol. its good to travel how the locals do and its much cheaper!
Got to our hotel, Evergreen and it was lush, a little swimming pool, massive bedroom and bathroom with hot running water and a big balcony with sun loungers on! we were so grateful for a bit of luxary! So we dumped our bags, went for a wander around Samui. We stayed on Chaweng beach which was the busiest, with one main road full of bars, food places and shops and a lovely beach. So we ate some food and got a early night, after all the travelling we were shattered. All our days were spent at the beach, chilling out topping up tans. That night was the night of the Full Moon Party. We'd heard some stories about the party which put us off a bit, but we were so glad we went cos it was wicked! So we caught a half hour speedboat over to Koh Phangan had some qucik food and hit the buckets!! The beach must have had about 10,000 people on it, it was brillient, we got chatting to loads of people and danced on tables all night. Everybody dresses up in thier UV gear, and have body paint designs on too, which are cool glowing the whole night! Matt had a welsh flag on his stomach, which looked a bit...uum .. special, i couldnt stop laughing at it all night & it was still there in the morning!! There was fire skipping ropes, limbos, jugglers and a slide (which Matt climbed to the top, thought s***t this is high and its on fire, but went down cos there was a group of us at the bottom!!) WE had a amazing night, but paid for it the next day at the beach, felt like death!!
On xmas eve, we both took 1000 baht (20quid) to but xmas present sfor eachother, you'd be surprising how much you can buy for 20 in thailand! we spent the night eating and drinking, just like we would've at home! Xmas morning the sun was shining...it was going to be a strange one! So we opened our presents, had a massive breakfast and headed to the beach!. We spent the day on jetski's and in the sea with santa hats on, it was funny to spent xmas in the sun! We had a xmas dinner then went to Tropical Murphy's (local irish bar) for more drinks and listened and snag along with a band!! All in all a really good time in Samui, We've left now and got a 14 hours sleeper train back up to Bangkok! Sounds like hell but it wasnt too bad, we got on with Sarah, who we met at the Full Moon Party and sat next to Maddy and Alex a couple for Canada. So we dumped our bags and cracked open the Changs, Sam our attendent made up a Chang song to the tune of jingle bells and sang it all night!! They fold your beds down about 8.30 the whole train went to sleep bar us lot, we stayed up having a laugh, sharing stories! There not the most comfortable thing ive slept on but wasnt too bad, through the night we would attach to other carriages with such a loud thump like we'd crashed into them rather than attached, was funny while we were awake watching other people jump in there sleep, not so funny when its 4.30am!! So now we've just arrived in Bangkok again for one night before flying to Australia tomorrow, shattered so were gonna head out to find a room for the night and have a nap before taking on Bangkok again!!!
