These buildings were built by the Babu who were Indians who became rich acting as middle men for the East India company, many are now converted into schools or form part of the university. Sadly some have just fallen into disrepair. The one we were taken round still belonged to the original family but was in need of renovation. We were not allowed to take photographs but it was well worth a visit.
