All alone in the big wide world
Tues 12/09/06
Got up again with Nicole at the side of me but this time I knew she was there. Before we left we went to say bye to Annemiek and Helio then got the bus down to the harbour. I Nicole and Michelle sat up top on the boat in the sea breeze which was nice until Michelle pulled out her personal music player. A very unsightly Sony walkman...this boat must have taken us back to the early nineties??? What was she going to do next put a tape on that she had made from the top 40 on Sunday???
Arrived in Koh Phi Phi some two hours later and immediately went for lunch as we were so hungry. The salad here is so fresh...well actually all the food is but due to my recent weight gain in India I'm back eating healthy and properly again! After food we went to try find some accommodation, the heat was soaring down on us but luckily a Dutch dude let us ditch our bags in his scuba shop until we found somewhere! I Think He just wanted to sniff some dirty underwear really but what the heck at least we didn't have to carry an extra 20kgs!
We managed to find some bamboo huts which were right on the beach and the beach they were on had suffered massively when the Tsunami hit but had got itself 90% back to normal. The surrounding area was still being rebuilt and looked quite a mess!
As soon as we had checked in collected our bags from Gold member and got changed into our swim gear its started to bloody rain! We didn't let the rain bother us and neither did anyone else we were all in the sea where it was about 25+.
We decided to just have a chill-out day today by just catching up on emails etc and just hanging out until tonight. At 19.00 we bought some local whiskey and some coke and went to our veranda to play some drinking games that Michelle had learn't on her travels. This seemed like a good idea at the time but I was terrible at the games, however Adam was even worse and he had his own bottle of Bacardi to damage....and that he did! Once the whiskey had gone we decided to take a walk into town as we had spotted an Irish bar earlier that looked promising. Well it was anything but promising all it had was "love you long time Lucy" sat in the corner! It did have very large and very cheap buckets of alcohol, we didn't have a clue what was in but had a couple anyway!
We soon left the Irish bar for the loud atmosphere of the Reggae bar; here we had many more buckets whilst watching anybody fight each other in the ring, the girls were the worst for it also! The last thing I remember in the bar was some little kid who kept running into me on his tricycle...if I could have focused properly I would have wrapped it around hid neck!

Needless to say I woke up with a banging head this morning...but at least I was home safe as I didn't remember getting there which is always a good sign! Nothing planned for today so just lazed on the beach for about 3mins then got bored. Me and Adam decided to go find a massive cliff to jump off, but were hungry so stopped for something to eat at one of the beach restaurants. We had some lovely chicken with rice and veg, within 5mins of sitting down it started to rain pretty heavily which cleared the beach. We decided to make camp here at the bar so had a few beers (well Adam did I was a little delicate) and played chess. As the day went on the rain got even heavier so I went for a wonder to the internet café to update this thing for you lot who complain when there is nothing to read or see! Do you know how hard it is finding time when you have nothing to do all day??
At night we just went out for pizza and a wander around the shops, well the girls did me and Adam just stood at the Dodgy DVD stall and watched nearly the entire film Mr and Mrs Smith! Early night tonight so were ready for the journey to Koh Pha Ngan where the real fun starts!
