Hi all, been a while since we have written anything. It's not been as easy in the outback and on the road as it was back in Thailand...anyway enough of the excuses.
On the 5th May we drove south from Cairns to Airlie beach. We loved the long drive and rapidly saw the country change. Cairns was very green and lush and is humid in the summer/ rainy days. The further south we got the dryer and flatter the terrain became.
We stopped in Airlie Beach for one night before heading for a tour of the Whitsundays. The weather was unpredictable and we either got heavy rain or blisteringly hot sun! We stayed two nights on south Mole Island and visited hook, Haymen and the largest island called "Whitsunday Island". But by far our favorite place was Whitehaven beach, the texture and colour of the sand was so amazingly soft to touch and is something like 99.8 % pure natural silica.
We sailed everywhere through calm and rough sea and we happy to be back on dry land for our drive down to Gladstone where more of my family live.
