Well, since Kimberley is just the coolest, she had an aunty down in wellington that needed seeing, so Melissa and i got to go too. We flew out of Hamilton airport on a rather small plane, and arrived in wellington an hour later. The ride was a bit bumpy when we arrived as wellington is not only the capital of new Zealand but also a very windy city!!
The first night, we all went together to a big flash theatre in down town wellington, to one of the International Arts Festival shows, called Bro'town. It was a new Zealand style play and very funny, myself being Australian though i wasn't able to understand all of the hilarious new Zealand humour, but it was still very funny. Flight of the conchords made some sort of "guest appearance" and Helen clark, the new Zealand prime minister did a voice over, and for melissa's sake, prince Charles even spoke about how he loved bro'town too!!
Then the next day we got woken up, by kimberley's aunties 2 sharpei dogs, raar and max who were licking kimberleys arm at 6:30am.. Maybe she didn't have a very good wash the night before hehe
So when we all finally got up, Kimberley Melissa and i all walked down to Courtenay place, (famous st in wellington) and had breakfast, then walked down to Te Papa museum. That was heaps of fun, we spent 4hours there! I got to sit with the pigeons, have my photo taken with some huge nz weta's, and have a look around the whale exhibit. I also helped Kimberley and Melissa devour the most amazing chocolate brownie ever!! YUM!!
Then we caught a taxi to parliament and the bee hive, and took some photos of the wellington war memorial as well, before we met up with kimberleys friend leigh for coffee.
After we all had coffee, we walked around the waterfront of wellington, which was very pretty, before we headed back to kimberley's aunties house . When we arrived back, we played with the dogs a little before we headed out to the most amazing movie theatre ever!! Unfortunatly the tickets were a bit expensive and kimberleys aunty couldn't afford a ticket for me as well, but its ok, i had a little sleep in melissa's bag instead. But mellissa told me all about it afterwards. They got to sit in big lazy boys, drinking wine and unlimited free soft drinks and popcorn, as well as the antipasto and asian plates that kimberleys aunty had organised for them as well. Not only was the experience amazing, but so was the film - The other Boleyn girl.
After wards, they went back to the house, and chatted and drank wine, having a swell time.
The next day, i got to have my photo taken with the dogs raar and max. So did Kimberley, they were the best dogs ever!! I think Kimberley wanted to steal raar, but im not sure if her aunty would appreciate that so much. Kimberley's aunty then took us all out for Yum Cha lunch at some asian restaurant. It was sooo yum!!
Then we got dropped at the airport and flew back to Hamilton.
Once we arrived in Hamilton we got a taxi to centre place and did some shopping and had a drink at the cafe. Me and mellissa were really thirsty and drank our drinks super fast, while Kimberley struggled to suck her smoothie up the straw as it wasn't quite as smooth as she thought it would be. But still yum!! Then we went and took some photos of all of us on the photo machine sticker maker thing, while we waited for kimberleys mum to join us to go to the movies. These movies weren't quite up to the standard we currently were used to, but still were very satisfactory. We watched ps i love you, which was very sad, but very good, not as good as the book, mellissa says though.
After the movie we grabbed some kai as they say in new Zealand (food) and went home.
But we definitely had a great time the last few days!!
