Today was a travel day. We arrived at the airport in Quito at 6:30 AM for our 8:30 flight through to Baltra in the Galapagos. Our bags were checked and we were awaiting the arrival of our AeroGal flight. It wasn't long before they announced that the flight was delayed. And then delayed further. By 11:00 AM, we were all taking bets as to whether we would be out of Quito before or after 12:30 pm. I took over and lost by 5 minutes as we hit the runway at 12:30 pm. We arrived in Guayaquil for what was suppose to be a quick stop to load and unload passengers. Things seemed to go smooth and we took off for Baltra. After only being in the air for 15 minutes or less, the pilot came on and announced that they were having problems with the plane and we were going to have to jettison the fuel and return to Guayaquil. One angry passenger seemed to want to start a riot...encouraging passengers to disembark on return and demand a new plane. When we touched down in Guayaquil, some passengers did get off. We chose to stay.
