Long walk into Mainz, got a little lost in the city but finally found the market. Bought nothing and walked back to Gonsenheim in a downpour. What a day out Lol. Had relaxing evening with dinner at home.

OUCH! Had my insert removed and gum stitched plus fitting of the temporary plate. Mouth so numb and sore I could only manage ice cream for a couple of hours. Luckily I could struggle down a wine or two watching the river cruisers later on :-)

Spent the day exploring Gonsenheim had lunch at cafe Raab accompanied by an Aperol spritz (a lovely refreshing drink). Then walked through the woods for a couple of hours before arriving at the zoo.

Appointment with the dentist this morning to see if my crown could be fitted temporarily until I return to the UK. Sadly not, it appears that the insert has broken and needs replacing. Since its back to the dentist again on Wednesday for removal of the insert and the fitting of a temporary plate. Oh dear I may need wine to cull the physical and financial pain ;-)

What a spread Birgitt has prepared. It's a full on German breakfast, the black sausage was delicious and not to be confused with blood sausage. Bella took up her usual position under the table awaiting any scraps that may come her way. Later we set off for the Nahe valley for a walk up through the woods to Altembaumberg. The views were stunning as always and we found a convenient bar in the ruins of a castle... life doesn't get much better than this.
