Mikaela And Lawrence's World Adventure
La Paz
We drove from the small town Uyuni straight up to La Paz, the capital of Bolivia. We booked wih a recommended bus becuase we had heard that this trip is really dodgy due to Bolivia not having many roads! Plus the fact that it's going to be a freezing bus trip if you go with a crap company.
We left on the bus at 9pm, everything seemed fine, the roads were extremely bumpy but we had got used to from our 4x4 jeep trip. We all fell asleep and got woken up by about 11pm by a Spanish man shouting at everyone. The bus had come to a halt and everybody got off the bus.
We stood in complete sludge! Me, Law, in our flipflops because we'rereally clever, and Humphrey and Peter turned the corner of the bus to see a car competly stuck, wheelspinning in the mud! Unconvientaly parked right in the way of our bus! Great.
We ended up waiting in the freezing cold for everything to get sorted. A queue of about 10 buses was building up behind our bus... One, which was directly behind decided to floor it through the mud... attempted to get passed our bus... passed the wheelspinning car, and parked himself also into the thick mud. What an Idiot. We now had a car and a bus in the way!
Ten minutes later another impatient bus also tried to get round the sludge, luckily he succesfully made it... although the bus did almost tip! We got told that the mud was too bad and were were going to have to wait until the morning!!!! :O No way.
Another 10 minutes passed and another bus decided to give it a go, this time through the river! We all stood and watched and hoped it was going to work. Wahoooo it did :) We all cheered and made our bus go through the river. We all abandoned the stuck car and continued on our 17hour journey to La Paz!!!
After this long trip, we chilled out in La Paz. It's a really nice city so we found quite a bit to keep ourselves busy. We booked our 22hour bus ride to Rurrenabaque which is a small town outside of the Amazon Rainforest. We are going to do a 3 day tour here
