Australia Day. Anchored off Cabo San Lucas, so we had to tender in. This was a first for me. We used the ship's lifeboats. After breakfast I was unable to walk on the Promenade Deck, so I did 10 laps of the Sun Deck, I have no idea how far that is.
I'd booked a whale watching trip for today. We travelled about four hundred metres into the bay past the ship. There were lots of pelicans and sea lions both in the harbour and the bay. They started serving margaritas and beers. I had two margaritas. We saw three humpback whales, which seemed to just swim around the bay. One did breach, but was quite a distance from us. Towards the end of the trip a grey whale was swimming alongside. This was probably the worst whaling trip I've been in, but still worth the money.
Back on shore, I wandered along the quayside to the Hard Rock Cafe for a late lunch and to use the wifi. The beer was OK, but the food wasn't up to much. It was my 21st HRC, I hope to get my tally up to 25 by the end of the trip. On the tender back to the ship, two boats passed us on their way back to Cabo. On the back of each was a seal. They were hanging off the back, half on the boat and half in the water! The guys in the boats would feed them.
Somehow I'd demagnetised my cruise card, so when I went to reception for a new one, I grabbed an up to date copy of my bill. I've now used up all my on board credit, so now I'm having to pay my way. Dinner wasn't particularly good tonight. Saw Bruce Morrisons second show of the cruise, From Broadway to Hollywood. The ship was dead tonight. Lost in the Syndicate Quiz. Just over 1000 miles to go until we get to San Francisco.
