The blog photo is actually from last night as one of the cruise liners left under the approaching Blood Moon. After all, there's not much to show for a flight to Dubai is there?
We did a final load of washing in Valletta (this place has a dryer) and wrote a big thank you in the visitors book. Our taxi arrived on time at 11.30 just a few steps from our front door and the somewhat silent driver indicated it would cost 19E to the airport. Our flight left on time and was without incident. The food was ordinary.
The arrival at Dubai airport at 1am was peak hour for flights. We thought Anthony had been joking when he warned us. Despite this, we got to the very long taxi queue quickly as we have only carry on luggage. I have never seen so many taxis! We sped through the traffic with another very good female driver who made a phone call to check where Meydan South, the new address, was. Jayne had given excellent directions once we arrived in the vicinity and we got out and walked into the house with the kitchen light on and went upstairs to our huge ensuite bedroom. We found out later that all four bedrooms have ensuites. By about 2.30 we were showered and in bed. We looked forward to seeing Jayne and the boys in the morning. Anthony is in Basra but will be back later today.
