The water taxis take us to the waiting bus at Venice airport at 7.45am. we have a 2 hour trip to the LIMA factory, where the surgeons listen to some presentations. then we have a tour through the new factory and see the manufacturing of the implants the surgeons use. It is so impressive, computerised machines doing the work. An 800,000 euro machine mills one implant every 50 minutes. There is even a robotic machine brought in as staff didnt want to work weekends!
Then we head to a prosciutto factory for lunch. We endure standing in the 15deg fridge with thousands of smelly ham legs which take more than a year to cure. Our guide is passionate about his hams.... We have a lovely lunch of bread, prosciutto, cheese, proscuitto on bread, prosciutto on melon, and pasta with prosciutto. it really is nice and sells for 50pds for 200g in Harrods.
A tedious 4.5hours later we arrive in Milan at 7.45pm. One of the surgeons wives left Lido after us, caught the train and has been here since noon! After a quickfreshen and dinner its bedtime.

Em I'm green with envy, the food sounds amazing (I'm sure the ham was green too!)
