The plan was to be up at the crack of dawn for a good sunbathing session by the pool before the long drive to Amed. Hannah and I woke up and heard the rain so decided the better option was to stay in bed. Once Sarah finally woke up the sun had arrived and we had our last breakfast in Ubud. I think I am addicted to toast and jam again!! We sat by the pool for a while, reading, and then went to check out. The bill was over 2 million rupiah but it was for two nights accommodation, a lunch and two dinners so not as bad as it seems. Our driver was prompt again and we started the journey to Amed. He was still questioning taking the scenic route but we said three hours was long enough! The journey was lovely anyway, we saw waterfalls, monkeys, the sea and the mountains. As we approached Amed the driver asked for the address of our hostel- we had no idea! Only that it was a beach bungalow called Chez-kin. Luckily I had eyes like a hawk in the front of the car and spotted a sign for the bungalow. The driver had never heard of it. As we pulled in we were slightly concerned especially as this was the first time the girls let me book the accommodation. Our room seemed nice, although we were unsure of the surroundings.the beach was on our doorstep but we saw dogs and little in the way of restaurants. Sarah asked the guy where we could eat and seemed to understand what he was saying. This was not the case but we walked for 2 minutes down the beach and found a restaurant that did chicken burgers. After dinner we all showered and had a few cheeky games of cards. I said that nighttime was my favourite time of night! We researched some places to visit while in Amed and decided to all sleep in the large bed rather than use the bed on the floor. I fell asleep first and woke to a dog barking. My words didn't make sense and I had dribbled all over the bed.
