Yesterday was a really nice day! The weather was great, the sun was shining all day and the temperature was about 30 degrees. We were told about a shopping festival in the city where a whole street was closed from traffic. The street was invaded by small stands and people who were excited about the great deals that the stores and the restaurants had to offer. We finally got to eat one of Montréal's specialties, the smoked meat sandwiches. It was ok, but we didn't think it was that special.. Now we have tasted Poutine, smoked meat and now we just have the world famous bagels left.It took us almost five hours to get from one end of the street to the other because of all the happenings. Jukka bought a pair of Adidas sneakers for only 50 $ and I bought a nice summerdress for 25 $.
After all the shopping we accidentally came to Place des Arts where the Montreal World Film Festival (WFF) — Festival des Films du Monde - Montréal (FFM) was in full action. There were hundreds of people in the park waiting for the movie to start. We got really nice places and decided to watch the first movie. We didn't actually understand that much about the movie, since it was in Mongolian and the subtitles were in French, but we still managed to understand the greater picture. After seeing enough we decided to start walking back home (which now is with a nice young couple in a really hip and trendy neighbourhood). They were still up when we came and we had a couple glasses of wine with them and talked about anything from travelling to global identities.
