After arriving at our hostel and following yet another round of goodbyes, we were really looking forward to a nice hot shower to get rid of all the dust and grime from the last six days. Little did we know that we would be in for one last surprise. Turns out shower #2 would be just as cold as shower #1. Brrrrrr. Relatively clean albeit cold, we, accompanied by Mike fresh off his adventures in Malawi, met up with Godwin and Tina for dinner. And what is more fun than hitting a local joint with a local? We ended up at a wonderful little barbecue restaurant just outside the city proper, where we got yummy goat, beef, veggies, rice, and yes, more fries. I also got my first taste of ugali, the local carb of choice. It looked like mashed potatoes, tasted like cream of wheat, and is generally eaten with your hands. The latter still a bit foreign to me, keeping in mind that I've eaten with chopsticks since I was three. We also got to imbibe on Konyagi and Stoney, neither of which we were actually able to acquire on the mountain.
