Today's my birthday!!! Wahoo!!! I've been waiting 21 years for this day, so even though my tonsils are still killing me, and I've had zero sleep on the bus, I don't care coz it ma burfffdayyyy!!!! :D
Still a big kid ;) of course! So today I woke up on the sleeper bus, had such a bad night again and it wasn't totes awks at all having to get the bus to pull over in the middle of the night so I could pee in a bush!! :/
We got a taxi from the side of the road to a hotel, went to about three different ones along the same street until we checked into Saint Paul's guesthouse, $15 Is the cheapest here... Not too shabby! We got showered and ready straight away and booked our ticket for Vinpearl Land! Cost 450,000.00Vnd which is like £13.50! This is supposedly the most expensive theme park in Vietnam!!! Alton Towers needs to learn a thing or two!
Becca and Charlotte, two girls from London who we bumped into a few times lately, decided they would come to Vinpearl with us too so we all got a taxi there.. The queue outside was huge and we thought would take forever but it goes down quickly, they have a separate queue for locals which seems to go quicker and a separate queue for foreigners!! Could you imagine in England if it we separated foreigners to separate lines!!!
We took the cable cart over the sea (supposedly the longest in the world) its pillars that hold it up are mini Eifell towers! It's so cool but it's over 60 metres above sea and it moved a lot in the wind so it got scary! You can see the 'Hollywood' impression of the 'Vinpearl Land' sign set into the mountains as you get closer! It's so cheesy but I don't mind as I'm in such a giddy mood today!
When we got there we started in the theme park side, the first roller coaster was the most timid thing you've ever seen, and yet the Asians were loving it! Some of them were crying, some of them laughing like its was the best thing since sliced bread and two girls even went to go be sick! They're obviously not used to it like us!
After this we went on a toboggan ride, never been on one before so didn't really get what to do. We got pulled up a huge mountain so your pretty scarily high and then it winds all the way back down again and you control your own speed by using the brakes! The first half was loads of fun coming down so fast and turning corners felt like I was gonna fly out my seat! Then closer to the bottom we caught up with all the Asians going slow so had to stop a while! :( it was still good fun! Just get outta my way! :D
After that alot of the dry rides are kiddies rides so we went to the Aquarium, again the biggest in Vietnam! It was cool they have some huge Asian fish! They have a big coral tank that me and Annie stood and stared at for 5 hours at all the pretty colours and loads of turtles that we stroked! Also the tunnel part were you walk through underneath the sharks and rays above you was a conveyor belt! So you stand in a line and get carried through the tank! So much better than the Deep!
After that we went and had lunch, there's a big fast food restaurant that sells cheap food, so we went there for a chicken burger! Looks like pretty damn tasty gourmet burger on the posters around the park but in reality is just a slab of cold, processed, left over meat, shoved between a piece of bread! A real birthday meal to remember! :D
After dinner we went to get wet in the water park! They have absolutely loads of slides to go on, started off the rainbow slides so we could all go together... Nearly had to step on a little 8 year old girl to get a mat to go in with!
Then we went on the Tsunami which was hilarious! Its like a half pipe that you go down in a double ring in, it goes so steep though and I kept thinking I was gonna go over the edge! Me and Becca came pretty close to toppling over the side! Totes hilareballs but, again I nearly had to knife a gang of Asian lads to prize away the dingy!
When we all went on space hole I think the girls didn't know what to expect, I'd been on one in Egypt so I maybe should've warned them :/ you go down a tube slide for a while at an okay speed but then it suddenly drops you so hard and you go flying out and land into a massive bowl! Then your spinning around a while in there until you eventually drop down a hole at the bottom and into a swimming pool below! So funny! I love it but, the girls all smacked there heads in the bowls and couldn't stand any more!
So we went to calm down, or so we thought, in the wave pool... It's crazy! Wave pools I've been in before have just had small decorative waves that lift you a little but you can still swim around, not this one... People were running around screening and drowning everywhere, when we got caught in the waves it carried us down the lazy river and it's impossible to swim back against it! I've never been in one so strong before, we were all falling out of our rubber rings and couldn't get back in! Made for an extremely funny hour though! Annie trying to get back up and onto her rubber dingy whilst it's floating away with the 6.9million gallons of water gushing behind her and her bikini top riding down in front of hundreds of Asian boys=priceless!
Then all afternoon we chilled by the private beach, its a beautiful white sandy beach with bright blue sea as usual!! :D heaven!
Randomly, me and Annie decided we would then use every last penny we had left to go Parasailing! Think it was around £20! Instead of heading out to sea on a speed boat like usual and then taking the parachute, we stood on the sandy beach and the boat just took off... We had to run along the beach towards the sea dragging the parachute behind us until it took off, right before our feet got wet! It was beautiful sailing across the cable cart and the mountains and slightly less enjoyable getting dunked into the jellyfish infested waters! :|
Getting off he literally just dropped us in the sea, the parachute nearly sank and dragged us down with it... What an epic way to die! Then we took a jet ski back and all three of us fell in the sea when it tipped over! The water here is sooo salty :/
We went to a 4D cinema before going home, watched a tunnel ride movie that gives you the impression your in an underground mine, you can smell it and get sprayed with water and the chairs move in sync with the motions to the movie... It was mediocre and hardly even in time but again the Asians were loving it! Like it was nothing they'd ever experienced before, they were holding onto the bars in front for dear life and screaming/screeching at every turn! This was more hilarious than the movie!!
We then took the cable cart back, the Eiffel Tower impression's that hold the cable up, above the sea are all lit up by night and it looks amazing seeing all of the lights reflect into the sea below! Goodbye vinpearl! :(
When we got back we went to eat at an Italian Bistro! It was amazing food, I got Gnocchi in a creamy white wine sauce with Parmesan... The best pasta I've had in Asia, it's not usually their strongpoint to say the least!
The skinny, chain smoker skin, Italian woman that owned the restaurant, dressed head to toe in skin tight, fluorescent pink peddle pushers and tank top with a knitted cardigan and feathery pink sandals was hilarious! Her hair was shorter than mine and she had a fag constantly hanging out of her mouth, as she flamboyantly minced around the restaurant! On the front cover of the drinks menu was an A4 sized photo of herself posing in an army print 2-piece bikini on a beach, kneeling in the sand with her breasts pushed forward, with her long black synthetic wig hair swaying in the wind! The funniest moment of the day! And she seemed so proud of this photo! Bless!
We all went and got ready and then in the evening went to Sailor Club! It's amazing here!!! It's expensive, more Asain than backpacker hang out which is what we like, and the drinks come in big fat jam jars! Heaven!
It's a beautiful restaurant and club right on the beach and there's a dance floor and a beach party set around a fire! We danced a while on the beach until i got sick of sand in my shoes and then went inside where its packed with Asians and hot! So funny though! We bumped into loads of people we've seen around on buses and in hotels the past few days! We don't talk to them much though unless there Asians, or unless its Becca and Charlotte! One of the girls had also turned 24 today and she had a flashing birthday badge! I could not have her around me stealing my attention! We could've stayed here all night but after 2am we were all so tired from all last nights travelling and our long day today that we left and went to sleep!
Had such a good day though! I'd do it all over again and it's certainly one I will remember forever!!!! :D thank you everybody for my kind birthday messages too!!!
