And so began my whirlwind tour of the UK. Set off from London, stopping in Birmingham to visit Mark, Reiss and family who i met on tour in Oz. What a fantastic (but busy!) family. Very rewarding to have met everyone in the street and have survived the number of beers we drank with much lesser side affect than Mike or Mark! Back on the road to the Lakes District. Well known for great scenery, i noticed loads of hedges and stone walls in place of fences like at home. Seems like a lot of work to build stone walls rather than put up a wire fence! Overnight the weather set in so i woke to rain. I stayed in my tent hoping it would pass but it didnt, not even by 7pm when i arrived in Edinburgh! Yep, i was wet when i got on the bike to leave camp and didnt get any drier or warmer for the next 7 hours or so. Its not all beer and skittles is it.... Kinda strange following the GPS which took me down some small unfenced lanes including over a ford over a flooded river, it was just like mongolia again! Arrived in Edinburgh, warm shower and walked into the gothicly medieval city. Found myself in the middle of a ghost tour and the guide included me in her counting despite me not having a ticket. I didnt see any ghosts so glad i didnt pay :) From Edinburgh the weather cleared and i went north, trying to find nessie at Loch ness. A long lake with lots of blackberries growing round it and strange creatures living it they say. Again the weather bagan closing in so i found myself inside at a hostel as i could find a non-boggy tent spot. Following morning the weather was back with force and it rained for about 8 hours. I rode the length of the great glenn, which splits scotland allowing ships to cross the country through a massive series of lochs. From there it was through the western mountains, meeting hamburger selling locals for a warm up and down to the ferry for a jet powered car ferry trip to Belfast. Arrived lat at night so straight to the hostel which i had booked (the most organized ive been so far this trip, pre booking hostels, s***!) I checked out the different areas of the city and all the memorials to the bloodshed between the Republicans and Loyalists. Really strange to see such distrust between people that live side by side and see the massive concrete wall dividing the city. Ive never seen so much razor wire in a city either! As i rode south i crossed into Ireland and switched to Euros and Kilometers per hr on the roadsigns! Met some of the locals at a bar in Dublin and heard some Irish folk music. Down south to camp before catching the early morning ferry back to England in a very very rough trip. Unfortunately it was rough enough to tip my bike over and do the most damage to it so far on the trip. I got on the hwy, riding through the Brecon Beacon National Park and on towards Yateley at top speed. Met at Davo's house and caught up with some of the crew from my round australia trip from 6 years ago. A great night out and a few sore heads in the morning.
I have had some dramas with work falling through in Norway which i thought was sorted so i have now been spending my time looking for more work. My biggest difficuilty being that im now a bit late for finding work in norway given that winter is now so close and i do not have a work permit to work anywhere else in Europe. Hopefully things sort themselves out, im sure they will, they seem to have a way of doing it.
If anyone has some contacts in the ski industry here in europe that i could call, send me an email!

Elissandra I used to manage a fast food place, and it's refrhseing to get a nice resume and a neatly filled out application form. Make sure the spelling is correct PLEASE! I hated that so much when people gave me resumes with spelling mistakes all over it, or it's not even aligned properly. And messy application forms are not that nice either. Ask for a couple when you pick up the form, in case you make a mistake. You really don't need anything fancy on your resume for this type of job because it's entry-level. It's a first job for a lot of young teens and the like. Extra-curricular activities and wholesome hobbies look good. Any type of experience in the work world will look good on there too. Do a little research too about the restaraunt(s) your applying at, because it's awesome when an applicant can talk about the place. Good Luck!
