The accident was in Jostedal on Wed 15th September on a small creek not far from the guide house of the Ice Troll crew. We were on a road trip and on our way to the fjords and thought itd be cool to run this small slide. Turned out to be not such a cool idea!
I ended up with a lot of pain, drugs, a bunch of ambulance rides and a helicopter ride, finishing in Laerdal hospital going under general anaesthetic to have the shoulder put back in. The following day we got back to Sjoa.
Since then i have moved to hammerfest (far northern norway) to be more comfortable and looked after. There is also a hospital here specialising in Orthopedics. I had a CT scan done of my shoulder and was told yesterday (Tuesday 21st September) that i would need surgery to remove a piece of torn tendon which has lodged itself in my shoulder joint preventing me from lifting my arm. The catch was though that they didnt want to give priority to a foreigner for the surgery and i would not be able to get it done here. After pleading my case it seems i will now be scheduled in sometime in the next 2-3 weeks to now have the surgery done here after all. Hopefully all works out and i can get back in form in time to leave for the motorbike ride departing copenhagen at the end of October. Timing will be tight! Ill keep updates here...
