We have had a great couple of days in Barcelona. The weather has been warm, around 26 deg each day.
Spent most of Thursday afternoon sleeping after 28 hours of flying.
On Friday we took the double decker bus around Barcelona to get familiar with the city. Went on the cable car to the castle at the highest point of the city
After touring around the city we did a bit of shopping and then went to a local wine shop for some wine tasting which was interesting then went on a tapas tour to some local tapas restaurants ending up at a wine bar (common theme here!)
On Saturday Sarah decided to do some shopping while I went cultural and toured the Picasso Museum followed by the Museum of Natural History which included the underground Roman city.
In the afternoon we did a Modernist tour with a local guide which included some of the incredible houses designed by Gaudi and also Park Guell again designed by Gaudi which overlooked the city. Gaudi was either a genius or a lunatic (or both) The end of the tour included a visit to Sagreda Familia which was started in the late 1800's and is still under construction! Plans are to finish this in 2028.
We finished up at a cool tapas bar called Ginger which had great cocktails, delicious tapas and quirky music including a glitter ball!
