We are forced to rest today, it is Saturday morning we are at our hotel 'Fretheim' in Flam. It is snowing and foggy, we are waiting for our ferry to take us on a scenic trip down the fjord to Voss.
Yesterday we left Oslo early by train. A
4 hour trip, lots of people with skis were on the train. It was very scenic, especially when we came to snow covered mountains and it was snowing.We changed trains at Myrdal, (this is at 1000 meters), for Flam railway. This is a most scenic trip descending over a very short distance to sea level in the fjord.The train passes through 20 tunnels. Flam is a very small rural town, we go for a walk to the old town and back, it takes a couple of hours. Dinner at the hotel as nothing else opens till summer.
We are definitely resting as we can do nothing else until the ferry arrives, and our trip continues by ferry and bus to Bergen.
