Michael in the East
hola,
here is a tale of when we went to mt. fuji. actually first some fascinating stats: its 3775m high making it japans highest mountain. it is also an inactive volcano. it hasnt erupted since 17something. the rock type is blah blah blah, and petey podsol blah blah.
so we went there a couple of weekends ago to celebrate jess actually having a day off. she works like a japanese beaver at the mo.
i had the plan of climbing to the top and getting back down in one day. so we set off in good spirits and reached the peak just before sunset. its really beautiful being at the top looking down on the clouds. and i had the traditional can of beer in me bag to have at the summit. yum.
so we realised we werent going to make it down. we went down to a little hut at about 3200m and kipped there in a bed with about twenty or thirty people in it. basically everyone was just crammed in and lying next to each other. very cosy. you couldnt role over without touching the person next to you. i had hoped to 'accidently' snuggle up to a hot japanese girl but jess wouldnt let me.
so we made the rest of our way down the next morning. jess particularly enjoyed this bit and stopped every other step to tell me how much fun she was having, and that she was glad we came.
thats about it. pixijess' camera is broken, so we only have my old school non-digital photos. so no pics for you yet. might be able to get some on here soon.
ciao
