So we're getting close now. 1 more day to go before we leave. This is the last chance for WiFi so this will be my last blog until Seattle.
Feeling OK about going and as I look around I know that I am in good company and that facing this thing together we will get through. This is all about the team. I'm as ready as I'll ever be.
Today has been my last day off and we went strawberry picking! This area is well known for its strawberries and they had arranged a visit to a local farm for us. After eating quite a few we were then treated to a banquet of Chinese dishes for lunch.
The plan for tonight is for a few quiet drinks before moving back on the boat tomorrow.
This race is tough and I know it will get tougher but that's what I'm here for. I'm going to hang on tight and do my best.
China has been amazing. Exciting, beautiful, serene, cosmopolitan, modern, traditional, a real contradiction of a place. I am however looking forward to the biggest steak and chips you've ever seen when we hit the US.
This isn't the adventure I thought it would be, but it is definitely an adventure! I'm glad I've got to do this.
Put the kettle on, I'm on my way home xx
