Ah Vegas, it was my birthday present to spend 4 crazy days in Vegas and so thats exactly what we did, we booked a night in 4 different hotels so that we could check loads of the places we had heard of - and it was BRILLIANT. We barely got more than 5 hours sleep a night as there was always pools to be in, gambling to be done, eatting and drinking to gorge on while also fitting in seeing shows, the fountains & ridiculous shopping centres, the place is one big adult theme park, so tacky and away from all the culture that we've seen but we've done enough of that, so bring it on!
We stayed in Paris, Luxor, New York New York and MGM. We got a free upgrade in Paris and I've put way to many photos of the view from our window on but I was just gobsmacked by it. MGM was our next favourite as its pool is just crazy and gaming floor was wicked too. but we got far drunker off free drinks in the Luxor where we ended up having a flip flop kicking competition (who could hit the giant sypnyx on the nose) in the foyer how we got away with it I don't know. All the hotels are so big its hard to describe but generally they would have a whole shopping mall in them, 6-10 restaurants and at least 1 theatre in! oh and it would take 10 mins to walk the length of the gaming floor and your room number could be up to 5 digits long! (if that helps)
We only gambled in the 1c and 25c machines as we're very very poor compared to most people in vegas and didn't have enough to even bet on the cheapest black jack or roulette tables - our jaws dropped when we saw minimum bet signs of $1000 bucks and then a enclosed areas behind those labeled "high stake gaming" - what exactly are they betting in their?????
We also saw 2 different shows; Jubilee the first one was rather odd, very old fasioned cabaret stil dancing and acting with boobs flying around all over the place! the other was Steve Wyrick the magician who was also very cheesey but also very Vegas - giant stunts and lots of dramatic music and lighting! and then on our last night we went to Godskitchen at the hard rock cafe to see Steve Lawler - which was the first time we'd got to go real clubing since we left!!!!!!!!! so what a way to finish our trip off.
And then of course as had to happen the end was here and we had to head back to LA from adult playground heaven to the airport and on to Vancouver where real life has to start again but a great blow out to end it all and probably the tiredest we've both in weeks as we landed in Vancouver to be rescued by Adam.
