Phuket
With a heavy heart I write the last journal entry before I am no longer a brave single traveller exploring the world as tomorrow I am joined by Mum, Michelle and Claire and will fall drastically down the coolness ranks to a "holiday-maker" BOO!!!
Here goes.... This morning we left Ko Yao Noi and got a boat to Phuket, first stop was a Gibbon Rehabillition centre and waterfall! It had lots of Gibbons that had been abused, neglected or used in tourism! It was very sad to read some of the stories but nice to see somewhere in Thailand actually trying to make a difference to animals welfare and not just exploit them! The Gibbons were gorgeoys and as of day have entered into one of my favourite animals alongside Waterhogs, Elephants and Ardvarks!
After that we walked up to a fairly average waterfall and back down for lunch! We then made the Songthaew journey to Patong where I will be staying in a Guesthouse with the group for the next two nights before meeting up with Mum, Michelle and Claire who as I type are on their way to the airport!
Although I am very excited to see all 3 of them I am also feeling a bit s***e about my travelling coming to what feels like (to me) an abrupt end! I have become very accustomed to meeting lots of interesting people and getting up every morning to see something new and exciting! I do not feel like I have been on a trip but more like this is my life now and seeing people from back home is probably going to be a bit of a reality check!
On the brightside I have a fun filled two week holiday to look forward to with 3 of my favourite people who I have missed heaps! Plus Claire is bringing me Walkers Salt and Vinegar crisps which they sell NO-WHERE in Thailand! So all is well with the world!
Next Stop ! London Heathrow!
I will put a couple more updates over the next two weeks detailing how Mum has coped with the dramatic climate change, how michelle is coping with Mum and how Claire is coping spending two weeks with the Kittles Girls!
