Hey All,
We had a 5 hour bus journey in from Hue to get to Hoi An, which was a great trip up to the 12+ hour from Hanoi :-) manged to get a hotel straight away, as you always get people waiting for you when you get off the coach. We have spent two great nights here, Hoi An is by far the best place we have stopped off in Vietham so far. Its just like a little fishing village really, lots of boats and old Vietnamese people, but still many many motorbikes, who like to beep very offen...lol...
We wanted a better hotel this time, after slumming it for 2 nights in Hue in a type of hostel, we branched out and spent $15 per night for the both of us, we have a swimming pool and unlitimited internet access, rooms are pretty nice too alittle way into the centre but the hotel does provide us with a suttle service. What more can we ask for...
Not really to much to see here s very peaceful or many day trips to do that we havent already done, so after the last 9 hectic days or so we decided just to chill out for a couple of days, i dont think there has been a day where we havent been up much later than 7 in the morning for one day trip or another....Another reason why i love it here so much....THEY HAVE SHOPS and lots of them, loads of dresses and accessoires, we have died and gone to heaven :-)
So far i have brought 2 new summer dresses, a bargain at only $5 each, the women was very helpful in the shop and even gave me and Claire a hand to get dressed....HAHA, also i have brought 3 bracelets, a steal at $3 each, is great, sorry to say still no H&M tho :-(, maybe i'll find one in Thailand.
I would defo recommend this town to come to on holiday much much more than Hanoi and Hue as much more peaceful and relaxed. Next stop is still Ho Chin Minh City. Our sleeper bus was due to pick us up at 7.30am on Saturday morning, 8.30 we are still waiting, 9am it turns up, mean while me and Claire have been talking about how much we are soooooo not looking forward to the journey, we were even on the pavement about to get on the coach and at the very last minute decided to catch a flight, HAHA, the women in our hotel told us we can catch one for $45, so sbout 30 quid each, well well worth the money not to have to take a 22+ hour coach. We are sooo not up to this travelling lark are we caving already.....HAHA
We therefore have to wait for our flight at 22.50pm tonight, still making it waaaayyyyy before the coach (what we like hey)
Hopefully we are heading towards the sun now, fed up of the cold weather, fingers crossed. Over and out from Hoi An onwards to Ho Chin Minh City
Much Love Always
Mel
