In Barcelona I have just had a hop on/hop off bus tour for the last two days which has been good fun with minimal walking and thinking! I have seen the Sagrada Familia church, Park Guell and have gone up to the great heights of Tibidabo with beautiful views over the whole city. It was so neat to see the Sagrada for real, it is huge! I had a look around the church and there was a lot of interesting information aon Gaudi. I also went up a lift in one of the towers - 80 odd meters I think and then took in the views as I walked back town to the ground. Such a really fricking odd design - but whatever floats your boat huh!?
Parck Guell is much bigger than I realized, so I had a nice wander around the grounds, and of course took the obligatory photos of the mosaic lizard and the curvy seats. There were people everywhere and people selling stuff and people playing instruments, the place had a good vibe and was fun.
I took a tram up the hill to get the funicular to get to the top of the hill at Tibidabo where a huge church sits alongside a amusement park that has been there since 1901! What a really odd combo - but somehow its so wrong its kind of right. Its quite nice to see people playing around and enjoying themselves around such an imposing religious monument where there is usually silence. I Took the lift up to the top and walked a further set of stairs then another to get to the very top of the church(elevators here are never free! - between 2 and 2.5 Euros!). I think this is the closest to Jesus I have ever got - I could nearly touch the big guys hand at the top! And then to make it odder a guy came up to me and asked if he could take some photos of me!!? He was an Indian guy from London and I was like ok I guess - so random! So he was there clicking photos of me and I was not trying to be conscious of it but it was pretty funny! So he followed me around for a bit and then I lost him - he then caught up with me a bit later and said thanks and gave me his card and said it was a project he was working on and if I wanted to see the photos sometime that I should email him hahaha sooo random! And then I spent the arvo in the park by the zoo with tons of other people just hanging out in the sunshine playing music or doing acrobatics or practicing their bar skills flinging bottles around and multitude of random stuff! So cool! So tomorrow I think I will take on La Rambla and try and avoid the pick pockets!

Jane I’m glad Madrid rose in your estimations once you set foot there ... must say, I loved it! Perhaps if I were 20 years younger (or maybe even just 10!) I'd dash back to Europe myself. There ... NOW see what you've done, you wicked child!!! LOL
