After an exciting second day in Boston, it's good to be back into the hotel after we left at 8. When we left, we headed to pick up a new tour director and start our adventure. She covered basically everything we did yesterday, elaborating with according historic pieces. Then, we went to Harvard Square. We visited the school campus and took lots of pictures of it. At around 12:30, we all headed our separate ways to eat lunch. The Oklahoma group, my group, went to this burger place called Bartleys. Mrs. Cohlmia goes there every year, so it's kind of a tradition. I got the Tom Brady burger, with guacamole, cheese, and ketchup. It was delicious! The Tom Brady burger was the best burger I've ever had hands down. When we met at 1:30, we headed to Lexington and Concord, which was a 45 minute drive. That gave us a great walking break! It was remarkable to see all of the history in real life, which is so much better than school books. Afterwards, we went to the Old Manse and had a guided tour around the house. The Emerson house has the majority of original furniture in it. Supposedly, it's haunted, which I can say I got weird vibes and presences throughout the house. We then went on the bus and drove to UNOs for dinner. It was absolutely delicious! We are salad, pizza, and a brownie ice cream dish for dessert. After that, we were going to go bowling, but decided to go see all of the Freedom Trail and the importance of it. We learned about the significant events like Bunker Hill and the Constitution. Again, it's so neat to see these in real life vs seeing them on printed paper. We took all pictures at the previous places we went to, since we didn't have time. Today was probably the first day I heard a lot of Boston accents, and strong ones too. The majority of the people here are really nice and considerate, with the occasional jerk. The new local tour guide affected my learning in a huge way, not necessarily positively. I liked some of the information she supplied us with because it was very imformative and helpful. But at other times, I was very irritated and frustrated. We didn't have a lot of time for pictures, some of the information was very lengthening and not very interesting. I just didn't really agree with her teaching style and had a very long day. My whole group felt the same way towards her. My travels today influenced my life by showing me all of the fascinating people, artifacts, and places I've heard about, just haven't ever visited. I'm so lucky to get the chance to visit these places a lot of people wouldn't have been able to. This town has a lot of historic value to it, vs Norman doesn't have as many things to see as Boston does. In Boston, you see significant places almost everywhere you look. Where in Norman, you don't see much of that at all. I like being exposed to different places and atmospheres like Boston, where it actually stands for something.
