I've spent the last few days in Brugge which is a little medival town close to the coast of Belgium where parts of town is heritage listed. A lot of it is orginal but some is rebuilt to look medival. Its pretty cool with lots of cobbled streets, canals, a couple of windmills and really old buildings.
The first day i arrived i had a bit of a wander around the town and on the advise of a tourist guide i was given went and had dinner at this family restaurant called Medards. I ordered the small but was given an insane amount of spagetti bolognaise for 3 euro. bargain! and it was so tasty.
On the thursday i got my tourist on and climbed the Belfry with a couple of classes of smelly school kids. Honestly i'm not kidding they stank. Later that day i went to the chocolate museum and learn't all about the history of chocolate. Among all that i gave mummo a call. After such a busy day i was pooped so i reitred to my dorm and had a good sleep.
Friday i had to change hostels as i couldn't get another night in my current one which turned out to be a good move because my new one was nicer. I wasn't feeling tops today so i grabbed myself some bread, cheese, olives and chocolate and had myself a picnic in the park under a windmill for most of the day.
My final day in Brugge i went to the Beguiage where a group of women used to live like nuns but without taking the vows. Very intruiging. I then went on a beer tour where they make Brugge Zot which of course i sampled afterwards. Finally had a ham and cheese crepe - i've only been trying since Christian put the idea in my head in Paris but just didn't seem to come across any... till today. Heard that mums mighty cats lost the gradfinal today which she was devasted about of course. Treated myself to a proper meal tonight at a chinese restaurant. It was a set menu so i had 3 course which i tried my hardest to finished but failed miserably.
Off to Brussels tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens
