4 August 2009 Varberg
Made it to Gothenburg, met up with Miriam, Marcus and Edith again, had a great dinner and speeded on to Varberg. Didn't see much of this town yet, but it's a seaside place and I found myself a campings spot no earlier than half past 9 in the evening. Not a romantic little place but with shower and sauna, so who's complaining. Well, there is one thing. It's the most expensive camping I've come across until now, no less than 10 euros more than the average ones I've camped at, even compared to Norway. You'd think they'd have a wifi connection for you at that rate, but no.
While driving today, singing along to a variation of musicians (from Rufus Wainwright to Fionn Regan to Sinead O'Connor (TROY on repeat, screaming along) I thought about all the lovely stuff I've seen this holiday. It's quite different from for example a diving holiday when you are focused on being under water as much as possible. It's probably the most varied way of travelling because you keep looking for the best things a specific area has to offer. And if you don't like it, you move on. You can do anything along your way and there's nothing stopping you. Sounds great, doesn't it? I'm actually glad I decided to spend another break on Norway. It sounds almost challenging to take in all its beauty and not get overloaded with impressions. It will still be there next year I'm sure.
Can't believe this trip is nearing its end. But I'm not regretting returning early. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of my chums again. And little Fem who now has teeth which of course I must see.
Ha! It actually gets dark here! It's 22.30 and I need to light candles to see something.
Tomorrow's weather forecast is promising! Sun! Might stay here during the day and then move on to Copenhagen where I'll linger for a bit. Feel like soaking up some civilisation. And then: home!
