Right...sorry about the delay in this update but we will hopefully fill u in on the last week as its bn so jam packed!!
For the first week we were on a group tour with 13 other people who were all lovely and grest fun!!
We travelled down with the group to khao sok national park and had our first sleeper train experience which wasn't that bad just very narrow beds!! Then we caught a bus to the rainforest resort where we were staying in a little hut by the river. On the first afternoon we went on a 'short walk' as Sit our leader told us...2 hours later we arrived back after being soaked in a torrential downpour, bitten by leeches and walking for miles through the rainforest up thousands of steps...awesome scenery tho. Then to cool off we went tubing in the river outside our hut, went down river for a good few miles only stopping half way to rope swing into the river then continuing on further down the river with megs being tipped out of the tube and helen got told to stop which was nearby impossible and drifted off without the rest of the crew proceeding to crash into a few trees :D
Day 2 in the rainforest and we went elephant trekking, we aptly named the elephant Ellie but then shockingly discovered it was a boy so he was renamed Edward. (There was a massive girthy giveaway that it was a boy tho !!) We rode on the back of the elephant for about an hour and a half through the rainforest and rivers, it was amazingggggg , then back at the start we got to feed the bamboo.
We left Khao sok on day 3 when it was pouring with rain and sat in the back of an open sided pick up truck for 2 and a half hours to the ferry port. We then ferried it across to ko samui and we stayed in a lovely beachside resort called sandy resort. We then had a lazy afternoon on the beach, followed by a crazy evening at chaweng beach at the ark bar beach party and ended up dancing in the sea...some of the group got wetter than others!! with the boys trying to throw everyone in !
We only stayed for 1 night as the next day we went off on another ferry to ko tao! Ko tao is a much nicer, prettier island which is apparently provieds some of the best scuba diving in the world. We sat in the back of yet another pick up (our usual mode of transport by now) and were shocked when we arrived at our accomodation for the next 2 nights which was a 5* beach side resort with amazing pool and beautiful bedrooms! (seashell resort) Chilled out by the pool in the afternoon then in the evening went down the beach for dinner and ended up drinking on the beach sat on beanbags around fire pits and watching fire throwers, perfect evening mixed with chang beer !
Day 2 on ko tao and we had to wake up early to catch a boat around the island...which we jumped off numerous times at different points around the island to go snorkelling in reefs and at a place called nangyan island which is a private island specifically for divers. Everywhere we snorkelled we saw thousands of fish and some saw a mini shark! The best i saw was a razor fish. Everywhere had crystal clear sea with great white sands. We then went on again down the beach that evening drinking chang (elephant in thai). We then left ko tao the next day bangkok bound.
However...our sleeper train was due at 8.30pm but kept being delayed more and more till it eventually came at 3.30am! Staying awake was hard work after the late night before! ONce on board we all went to sleep expecting to wake up in bangkok, but when i woke at about 10am we were stopped still in the middle of nowhereand apparently had been for about 6 hours! So by the time 3pm came and we were still sat on the bloomin train Sit decided that we would all get off and hire a van as some had to be at the airport by 6! Luckily after a major rush acoross the country we made it in time for peoples to catch their planes. We then parted ways with the 13 others in our group :( was quite sad as we had all become close and used to doing everything together and was even sadder to say goodbye to our guide Sit (who often sang us ronan keating anf lionel richie and loved the saying same, same but different which we all proceeded to adopt :D)
Anyhoo now im up to today where we are now back in bangkok and its as manic and humid as ever! We went to the zoo yesterday which was cool, had numeroud tuk tuk rides, seen temples and buddhas, been to a market. Everything over her is soo cheap u can get a main meal (often noodles or rice with chicken...pad thai! Tis everywhere!) and a drink for about 100baht which is 2quid! They also have awesome banana pancakes here!!
Anyhoo think that will do for now will hopefully upload some photees as welll
Sorry if i missed anything but a lot happened this week!!
