my travels so far...
Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Phnom Penh was a complete culture shock, i was quite nervous about entering the city anyway but the second i got on my motor taxi the madness began! there are motorbikes everywhere on the road from the airport to the city, the risk of crashing is so high and i had a few moments where i came close to losing my knees! people ride up the wrong way, dust is flying and the heat is incredibly intense. the actual city itself i didnt really enjoy it requires a lot of energy, tuk tuk and motor taxi drivers stop every few seconds to offer u a ride, people stare and call after u, the traffic doesnt cease so road crossing is impossible and at the same time its so hot and dusty i had to keep escaping to cafes just to rest. i managed to visit the royal palace and monuments, which were stunning, but didnt hang around to long as it got dark pretty quickly and my hotel was a way from the waterfont where i ate dinner. decided to give Phnom Penh another try in a few days but for now i am relaxing on the beaches of shikauville.
