So our first week in Australia was eventful to say the least. Standard!
We had our first hostel experience staying in the notorious Fortitude Valley, which is party central in Brisbane. We were a bit disappointed to have the room to ourselves so we didn't make any friends :( But we soon picked some up in the bar as usual! We attempted to get over our jet lag by sleeping until 8pm then partying all night, stumbling home around 5am. Not ideal and not the cure for jet lag incase your wondering. This routine carried on for the next few nights....
Unfortunately one night LJ had all of her belongings stolen from the bar and to say we caused a scene was an understatement hahaha. It was a really s*** time and during the drunken antics LJ managed to convince the whole facebook world she was returning to Scotland. Safe to say we pissed ourselves laughing the next day after Laura spent what felt like forever on the phone home to try and sort her bank cards etc.
Brisbane was cool, but over all it didn't really have much to it....maybe because we have arrived in winter, I'm not sure? But for whatever reason it just didn't sit with us. So after a few phone calls with friends in Sydney, we have decided to book some flights down there and see what happens!! And as I write this post, the lovely people at Virgin Australia have e-mailed us to advise our flight has been cancelled. Well of course it has. Surely this has to be the end of our bad luck!!!
Next stop SYDNEY!!! woohoooo
