Who says lightening doesn't strike twice! After Friday's heavy snow we could undserstand why the flight was cancelled. However things were different on Sunday when our flight were cancelled again. The 1 to 2 cm that fell were nothing major especially compared to other European cities yet Heathrow T5 ground to a halt once again.
We by this point, were well versed in the ways of British Airways rebooking and compensation options. A quick look online and we were booked into the Sheraton Skyline Hotel nr Heathrow. A short bus ride to the hotel and we were both sat down and enjoyed a nice steak and a glass of red wine. Nothing compared to Argentinian standards but it made us feel better.
We chose the hotel because it had a pool, and a fantastic one at that! It gave us the perfect opportunity to try out the new rugged underwater camera. We then spent the afternoon walking round a snowy Kew Gardens, a place Briony had wanted to visit for ages. Her walking boots which she hadn't been able to change since Friday were well and truly roadtested by the end of the day.
In what was turing out to become a bit of a habit we then ventured into London's Soho to meet some more friends. This also allowed Tim to dry his only pair of pants on the radiator in the pub. The LandLord didn't look too impressed!
