Sorry all, i am DOWN UNDER, and just didn't write for a while.
So i am already in Adelaide - south Oz- for nearly 2 weeks.
Been super nice and relaxing so far.
It is spring time here, so everything is relativity green still as it sometimes even rains a bit - yes Holland, but a drop or two, not more. The temperature is beautiful. Always between 20 and 30 degrees.
I promised Nat to make her fit while i am here, so the goal is to stay healthy and sporty for 4 weeks.
Convinced Nat to do Bikram yoga and combine this with a LIVER and GALL BLADDER cleanse. This meant, we could only eat apples and drink apple juice for 3 days, then take a water epson salt mix 4x and at the end a lemon- oil mix .
We were super weak, and the Bikram yoga - a 90min yoga in 42 degrees- was so hard, that we both nearly fainted in the first 2 classes. We bought a 7 day pass, to make sure we wud go back...!
After the oil shake, we actually spent the rest of the day on the toilet, or close to A toilet.
But we managed our goal, lost some weight and celebrated at the beach with some fries and ice cream- woohoo!
The days pass by so quickly here, it's scary. Went for a nice run in the McLaren Vale, walks along Brighton beach, went for more Bikram action.
On another run early in the morning we saw a little Koala Baer just sitting on the ground and walking to the next tree, about 2m away from us. Amazing.
Rented some bike shoes, so we will do a long nice long ride thru the vineyards this weekend.
The kids are good. I babysit a lot, so N&A can go out a bit. Introduced the kids to my favorite movie - "Pippi Longstocking". Amie was allowed to have a sleep over in my bed last weekend as well. I received little kicks all night and hardly slept, so I decided that was the first and last sleepover ;)
Lucas is a little " Miststück". But at least he starts saying " danke" and "bitte" to me! I also told the kids that my room is " the quiet zone" - only whispering is allowed. Works....
We baked cheese rolls the other night, painted our nails in all different colors for the school disco, had a little fashion show. So I am for sure not bored here.
The shopping here is terrible. Thanks god. The fashion is so behind here, I would not even call it fashion. It's worse than Germany... And that means a lot. The pricing is going through the roof. Unfortunately the dollar is so strong at the moment, it is killing me. A normal supermarket shopping is at least 200$, a muffin is 4.5$ and ice cream 3$ a scoop. It's unreal.
Had a little " red back spider" under Nat's desk today. She only spotted it by accident. One bite can kill you. Crazy. So I checked my bedroom straight away, but so far nothing...!
Booked my last flights, one to Vietnam and one to Bali. Strange to think this trip will have an end one day. Bit sad already. I feel so great and lucky to do this adventure. It was the best thing I could have done. Feel so energized and happy, have my smile back and just feel relaxed.
Thanks again for all those of you, who pushed me and supported me to do this trip and of course a big snoggy thanks to my man, who actually pushed me out the house and told me to go and enjoy myself and have a blast. xxx. Enough.....!
Night night!

Natalie Rickers Glad my stinky cheeky kids are making adelaide life go quickly. They love having their aunty Marie (Mawee) here... I heard Amie telling her friends how cool her aunty is the other day and how cool her tricks are. So cute! I love watching them play with auntie Marie... Painting nails, watching "Pippi", joining in our exercise classes, hair and makeup and fashion shows. My favourite moment of all was today. I left Marie and Lucas in the car when I had to drop into the post office for 2 minutes. When I left he was quiet and peaceful.. When I got back, he was screaming his head off and was covered in water. Turns out he was throwing Lego at Marie and wouldn't stop or calm down, so Marie's instinct was to squirt water at him! He went crazy, ballistic at Marie but it was bloody hilarious. Marie 1, Lucas 0!!!!! For me,I'm loving having such an inspirational person here. Thanks Marie for getting my back into shape. 3 kilos down and counting!!
Andrea Wow Marie! :) Check your bed carefully! Can't wait to hear everything in detail! Amsterdam is colder than cold.. Enjoy your amazing trip! Big hug***
Josine Hey Marie, sounds so great overthere in Australia and the time you can spent with family, sports and bad-shopping ;) Cool! Enjoy it, overhere it is cold, foggy and less interesting as I haven't seen any Koala's or so, just some spiders in the garden...
Helen Live in the moment and don't think about the end :) Had to laugh that you finally had some kind of colon cleanse after all our discussions. I will NOT be partaking in that....
Helen Bridge Wow Marie - it's just amazing all the things you've been up too! I would love to be there with you in those lovely temps! Holland is cold and grey, so enjoy your days there! Keep the blog up, we all love following you on your trip xxxx
