Kia Ora!
I left Australia on a very sad note. We had so much fun those 4 weeks and I will miss my little Aussie family terribly. The good bye was worse than expected, with a little car accident in between....:(
Arrived here in New Zealand quiet late. The immigration took forever, as I had to declare my little green tea, which I bought in Sri Lanka.
Anyway - finally out the airport, my good old friend Ari picked me up.
We have known each other since school, maybe the age of 11! Ari lives and works here already for 8 years. Last time i visited her was about 2 years ago, when Andy and I did our around the world trip. So not too bad.
We had breakfast by the marina, which has completely changed for the rugby worldcup last year. Its a very pretty area, a bit rough, but cool, with lots of little bars and restaurants.
It's so cool to be back, as Andy and I only saw the main shopping street and a few things around Auckland. The city is very Asian influenced. There are more sushi places than in Tokyo.
Ari took me to Mount Eden for some sushi, Ponsonby, which is very hip and only the cool people hang out there. Had coffe in Newmarket, which is my fav area. Lots of very nice little shops, bars and nice houses. Found my absolutely favourite coffee place called " little and Friday".
In the afternoon we went to see one of Aris friends, who will get married on Saturday. She is Indian, so all the girls got some henna tatoos done and tried on Saris. I also tried one on, which was quiet funny. Also very interesting, the way you put it on and fix it.
We then went to an Indian shop, as Ari needed some bangles, earrings, trousers to wear under her sari and a top. So funny, the two Black Forest girls in New Zealand in an Indian store. Who on earth would have thought that...?
My Swabian is amazingly great. Ari was very pleased and proud, how well I can speak it now. It's almost like a foreign language for me, but so funny. Was not able to speak it when we went to school together, so not quiet sure, how I learned it so well over the years?!
Went for a few runs, while Ari and Rickey were at work. There is just nothing better, than running along the sea, looking out on the water.
Like always, we didn't have enough time. Quiet sad to already leave again.
Thanks so much guys for the stay. It was amazing to see you again- like always. So so wunderschee, I kom uf elle fell mol widder. Can't wait to see them back in Germany next year...
Packing now, next stop Sydney....
