Today was amazing! We walked the rim walk of Kings Canyon. It is about 7km long and took about 3.5 hours (including a few snack stops and lunch). At the start of the walk we had to climb approx 500 steps (this took us up about 100m!)
The walk took us around the top of the Canyon wall, it was spectacular and terrifiying being on the edge of the cliff. We crossed bridges that went over large cracks in the rock and climbed to the highest points of the cliffs. The views were amazing.
We also walked to "The Garden of Eden" which is a small waterhole down lower in the Canyon. This was an lovely tranquil place, nice and shady out of the hot sun.
After the walk we all needed a swim. Again, it was freezing - but very refreshing.
We treated ourselves to pizza at the pub for tea and a couple of drinks - it was happy hour night!
