Packed up the tent early and headed excitedly for Mt Robson. What an amazing drive as the mountain towered over the road ,and every corner exposed a different view of the glacier topped beauty!
Had a lovely walk into Rearguard Falls, followed by Overlander falls both beautiful.
MOUNT ROBSON was as amazing as We hoped. On our walk into the lake we had a drama with a man who fell into the river and was swept along until he was able to grab at a fallen tree. He was in terrible shape with a dislocated shoulder and severe exposure... A sobering experience for us as we continued our hike.
The day was hot and sunny, the people we met interesting and warm. Many offering to share their sites with us as we hadn't any accommodation and it was peak time .
A quick swim in the lake was very refreshing and thrilling.
We did find a camp site late that night in Lucerene at a national park ... In fact the last one available! A short trip into Jasper for tea, a campside fire and cosy sleep in our teeny tent.
Mount Robson was our introduction to the majesty and incredible beauty of the Canadian Rockies.
